Certificates of our Italian Language School

CLIC Centro Lingua Italiana Calvino since 1987 has been offering Italian courses for international students in Florence, throughout the year. Residential summer courses are also available in Calabria, in the south of Italy. A language course with CLIC means language and culture combined. Students have the option of attending class either 2, 4 or 6 hours per day, Mondays through Fridays, in small groups and at 8 different language levels.
To us a language school is based on certain concrete and essential features:

Small Study Groups: success in less time
Small groups assure the most direct route to learning, providing a personal and active confrontation with the language. At our Florentine centre, the maximum number of students per class is 10.

Our Teachers: professionalism, availability and friendliness
All the teachers at CLIC are university graduates and have completed special training for the teaching of Italian as a foreign language. They will always be prepared to help you with any questions or concerns involving the language or “life in Italy”.

Our Teaching Method and Materials
:
be plunged into a bath of Italy
We have created our own original texts that are coupled with games, role play, activities, music and with various types of teaching objects: the new language can be touched, seen, heard, and sometimes, in the case of the Italian culture, even tasted.

A Certain Atmosphere in the Classroom and in the School
If, while learning Italian, you would like to express yourself and participate, receive personalized attention, and have another call you by your name and not “You, there!”; if you would like to feel as part of a big family, make friends in Italy, and find professionals in language teaching, we are the school for you.

Clic in Florence

Florence boasts a proud history of art and architecture, unsurpassed elsewhere in Europe. An absolutely breathtaking city, its streets radiate the charm of Italian culture and its way of life. Students from all around the world are discovering the 'Blooming Flower' (Florence’s meaning in Latin) and the birthplace of the Renaissance. It is an ancient city with modern attitude, and you will not only find the flair of this city in the numerous museums and palaces, but in the private galleries, bars, cafes and even in the clubs and discos. Anyone who comes here and studies in such an attractive environment and conditions cannot fail to obtain a reasonable grasp of the language and culture. Whether it is something modern, classical, ancient or rustic, we know that if it comes from Florence it’s "in" and has style. Home of Dante, Machiavelli, Michelangelo and Leonardo, Florence is today a must for trendsetters, furniture designers, craftsmen, artists, architects and fashion designers. Whatever your taste, we are sure you will enjoy Florence. It has something special for everyone and is a paradise for young people of every age.

The school is centrally located, in the heart of the Santa Maria Novella quarter, next to the main railway station. From here one can reach the most famous sites of the city on foot including the Cascine Park. Back at the school a comfortable and bright lounge area is available to students, offering music, newspapers, a piano and so on. Each classroom features a small terrace; in addition there are two wide panoramic terraces from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the surrounding hills. Last year the students came from 57 different countries of all continents. Although most students are between the age of 20-25, students of all ages are welcome and well integrated.
CLIC focuses on the entire stay as an educational unit, as such the school organizes an extensive after-school activities program during your leisure time (CLIC around the clock).

...in the distant plain lay Florence,
pink and grey and brown...
After nine months of familiarity with
this panorama I still think,
as I thought in the beginning,
that this is the fairest picture
on our planet, the most enchanting
to look upon, the most satisfying
to the eye and the spirit.

Summer Courses
Clic in Calabria

Try our school in Capo Vaticano! Here in the deep rural south of Calabria you will find the peace and quiet you need to really concentrate on learning thoroughly.

Unspoiled Countryside

The landscape, thankfully, has escaped the worst ravages of investment crazed hotel chains. True, there are one or two larger towns in the area, such as Cosenza or Reggio Calabria, but canny tourists will pay them a brief sight-seeing visit at most. Then there's the weather! In southwest Calabria it's not only beautiful, but also very dependable. If it gets too warm for you in mid-summer, an excellent alternative to the sea is a short trip to the cool, fresh air of the nature park in the Sila Mountains. The slopes of the mountains, some of which are 2000 meters high, are clad in dense forests of oleander, medlar, beech and pine trees.

The School Residence
Capo Vaticano is a steep foothill, a few kilometres south of the medieval town of Tropea with its picturesque 12th century cathedral. It is well known to surfers, sailors and divers. From the mainland you have a superb view across the Tyrrean Sea. On a clear day you can even see Sicily and the Liparic Islands that lie before it.
Our school is located in an orange grove in the little village of Santa Domenica di Ricadi, just 700 meters from the beach. The homes where our students stay are also surrounded by orange trees.
